When I started this Substack, I did so with the hope that I might somehow find a virtual way to help those who can’t work with me in person. That’s why I started the “Yoga + Training Studio” part of this publication.
In order for you to truly benefit from the strength training portion that I offer here at Courage and Kale, you would need to have some exercise gear at home, or have access to gear. If you are already part of a gym - great! But I truly believe having a few simple pieces of equipment at home (that you can throw under the bed when not in use) is very helpful when you can’t make it to the gym or only have 15 minutes to spare! Having equipment at home reduces the excuses you make to not work out! Believe it or not, 15 minutes / 3 times a week can be an adequate chunk of time to get some strength training in depending on your goals!
The piece of gear I want to highlight today is a TRX ( Total Resistance System. ) A TRX is a simple set of straps that you can hook to a door (it will come with instructions for this) or otherwise attach to anything strong that is overhead. A TRX uses your own bodyweight to build strength. The plethora of exercises it provides go from beginner to advanced continuing to provide challenge no matter your level. It is truly a brilliant piece of training equipment and the first piece of equipment I will suggest my clients buy for their “home gym.”
In the video below I share how to do a TRX Row. Watch and learn how to do this exercise with good form. (You will soon come to see, I am a “good form” freak!) In the coming weeks and months, I will share more TRX training as well as exercises with dumbbells, kettlebells, stability ball, bands and more. I will also be sharing yoga poses, healthy recipes and other healing tips. In the meantime- let’s learn the TRX Row.
BTW: My heartfelt offerings take time and energy. In order to support my efforts, I am an Amazon Affiliate which ONLY MEANS, I will get a minute fraction of the cost of the products I recommend to you when you purchase them through my links. This is the only way I get compensated for the hours it takes me to share helpful information to my readers. It does not in any way change the cost of the products or add on any extra cost. Another way to support my offerings is to forward this email to someone that might benefit. Please invite them to follow my Substack by forwarding them this post. XO
